I have been an artist all of my life. I have been a horse lover all of my life. So, by listening to my inner guidance, I became a painter of horses, especially in the sports of racing and foxhunting. I find that there is an excitement and enthusiasm for me in capturing these sports on canvas. My medium is oil, and my technique is traditional realism.
I live what I paint. I follow the local foxhunts and I frequent nearby tracks and steeplechase venues. I have ridden Thorougbreds off the track for almost 40 years, and was once an avid competitor in jumper shows. Now I am content to leave the competition behind and focus more on my art. I still own a Thoroughbred mare.
My work can be seen in several galleries on the East coast, or at my home studio. More info can be found on my website, www.bethparcellevans.com
